My Brother inlaw got a nice looking rifle at an auction. I told him I knew next to nothing about black powder rifle but I would ask the folks here. He didn't give me a lot of pics but it appears to be 50 cal.
My vote would be with Tiriaq; the stock looks new to me using the left hand lock from a Forsyth double barreled shotgun. The inletting of the tang does not look good enough for an original not to mention the wood looking new
Looks like a home shop project from gun show parts.
As long as it was not bought as a collectible piece, all should be OK.
Pull the breech plug out, partly to get a good look through the barrel, and partly too have a good look at how deep it goes in threaded, and the condition of the thread fit, in aid of avoiding unpleasantness.
If it was competently built, and safe, go shoot it and report back on how much fun y'all had!
