W760 and H414 the same?

I have some advice to use W760 for some loads in my 7x57.
I've recently read that H414 is the same powder.

Is this true and are they completely interchangeable?

it is MY understanding they are taken from the SAME supply and any differences are just usual lot to lot variations you'd find with W760/W760 or H414/H414

Yes, they are the same. Check loading datas from Hodgdon's website.

Yes. Hodgen does not make powder. They re-brand powders made by other makers.

I used to buy the same powders directly by the makers like Bofers.

Well according to the chart that a fellow CGN'er posted a few weeks back, there are subtle differences, one has 5 ingredients, the other has 6 - Have a look:

But the two load manuals I have show exact same loads.

I have been using W760 and H414 interchangeably for about 25 years, and have never seen any real difference.

It is nice to work with, and has a burn rate very close to IMR 4350 in most applications. One of my all-time favorites in
the 30-06 with 165 grain bullets.

I use them interchangeably; but with the acceptance that charges might change a grain one way or the other with different lots. Hodgdon's position is they are exactly the same except for the label; it was on their website at one time. I don't think it was always that way.
