Hi all, new to reloading. We were given some shotgun reloading stuff.( press, powder shot etc) including Lyman 5th edition shot shell reloading handbook. My question is. We were given 2 types of wads one is Winchester double A CWAA12 but the manual lists for WAA12. Are these the same? I can’t find info on the google machine other than listings from auctions. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I have never seen a wad labelled CWAA12 by the manufacturer. Claybuster AA12 is labelled CB1118-12.
There are/were WAA12 clone wads made by Claybuster, Downrange and Pattern Control - maybe more.
A picture is worth a thousand words.
If it looks like an AA12 wad, with the same height crush section, I would happily use it in my target loads, with modest listed pressures.

Beware of really old wads - the plastic deteriorates. If the plastic breaks when you squish one with your fingers, you will get off sounding loads with low velocity.
