I have a Norwegian K98 that is almost all German matching aside from the self matching bolt. The only part that seems to be German mismatched is the magazine floor plate.

It has Waffenamt 1, with just a 1 under it for serial number. I have not had much luck looking up what that code means.

The rest of the rifle is Wa214 on a costal artillery 1940 237 code.

Anyone know anything about it?

WaA 1 is for code bcd and code 337

WaA1 337 Berlin-Suhler Waffenwerke, Suhl 1937-40
WaA1 bcd Gustloff-Werke, Weimar 1941-45

Of interest, bcd made K98’s and G43’s.

WaA214 237,duv,qve Die Berlin-Lübecker Maschinenfabriken, Lübeck 1939-45

Of interest, G43 and K43 were duv, qve and 214 marked.

WaA214 K98 237 marked on a K98 as for your 1940 example.
