Well, it took a a long while. And it cost an awful lot. But was it worth the wait and the cost? Well, after due consideration I can only say, "Hell Yes"!!!

After placing my $2.5K pre-order back in December 2024, I patiently awaited the arrival of my SIG Legion Flux Raider PCC/PDW. After what seemed like an interminable wait, February 2025 finally rolled around and true to their word, Rangeview Sports received the "Canadianized" SIG P320 Flux Raider kits from M.D. Charleton, the SIG Distributor for Canada. In lieu of the Fire Control Unit (that cannot be transferred under the Canadian "Hangun Freeze"), and 2 x 10/30 Magazines, the Canadian SIG P320 Legion Flux Raider would ship as a parts kit substituting a custom 4.1" Barrel for the Canada-verboten 3.9" US Standard Legion Barrel length and 2 x standard-length 10-round Magazines for the 30-round factory Mags.

Given the relatively short length of the compensated SIG P320 Legion Slide, I had always planned to swap out the integrally-compensated Legion slide to my B+T P320 Folding Stock Chassis, and then take my longer, SIG P320 X5 Slide and Compensator and put it on the SIG Flux Raider Chassis. This swap would better balance both firearms in terms of matching up similarly long slides and Barrels with an equal-length Chassis. In the case of the P320 X5 Slide and Compensator, this longer assembly would project just past the end of the Raider Chassis instead of ending within the frame and looking out of place. Fitting the X5 Slide and Compensator to the Flux Raider Chassis took some Dremel and sandpaper work at the Muzzle end in order to accommodate the partially-recoiling Comp, however the end result was worth the effort and risk as I really like the look (and effect).

Additions to the basic SIG Legion Flux Raider parts kit include:

- Killer Innovations P320 X5 Threaded Bull Barrel
- Killer Innovations P320 X5 Compensator
- Tactical Development F10 Ambi Charging Handle
- Tactical Development Right Side Safety Delete
- Flux Defense 1.5" Length of Pull Buttstock
- Flux Defenxe Gen 1 Operating Lever with Slide Catch Detent
- Holosun AEMS Red Dot Carbine Sight
- Streamlight TLR-8 Light/Red Laser combination
- SIG 10/21-round (Front) and 10/30-round IRear) Magazines

In addition to the aforementioned Dremel and hand-sanding work on the Muzzle end of the Chassis, I also decided to remove approximately 2cm from the bottom tip of the Buttplate. I used a hacksaw to remove the bulk of the material, finishing and blending the cut polymer with additional hand-sanding. Sometimes perfection requires risks. This time it paid off in Spades! The tip of the Buttstock no longer projects below the line of the firearm and therefore doesn't catch on the zippered edges of my sling-bag during a hasty retrieval.

Man I wish I got a SIG p320 when it was still an option... That swappable FCU has so much potential that my CANIK simply can't compete with... I love my CANIK, its been a great pistol for me, but man that Flux Raider is so sweet...

Now you just need the Flux Raider holster Gray Fox Strategic makes for them.

It would be a nifty accessory for sure, but I couldn't actually use it (I'm stuck in a wheelchair). So I am not quite sure that it is worth the $300(+) cost! Instead of a holster I use a small sling-bag which fits the flux perfectly with a couple of 10/21 Magazines fitted.

I have since swapped out the AEMS Sight for a Holosun Solar Charging Sight (SCS) in order to decrease the optic size/profile. Their reticle size is identical, which is the key consideration (along with Field of View).

Well I know you’re a gear junkie so I figured I’d mention it, hard to justify the price for an accessory you won’t get much use out of but it’s a cool piece of gear.

You know me too well! Chances are that I will eventually buy the holster just to be "complete" insofar as accessories go. Otherwise, I have pretty much exhausted what the internet has on offer for the Flux Raider, which sadly isn't much.

It was probably a Glock chassis, a poor quality video on a local Edmonton twitter account showed officer using what appeared to be a PCC pistol chassis at a takedown at Clairview LRT station the other day. Just FYI.

Everything is relative. What you see as a "FAAKload" of money was to me, disposable income specifically put aside for that purpose. It was budgetted and accounted for, so no skin off of my nose, so to speak.

As for "fugly", perhaps. Aesthestics are in the eye of the beholder. Personally, I think that the Flux Raider looks great! Plus it does things that no other chassis does, while excelling at the common basics.

Insofar as small is concerned, I like the size of the Raider and wouldn't want it any larger. The grip is right on the edge of being too short for my large mitts, however the flared Magazine well keeps the heel of my hand away from the magazine so that it ejects and drops freely when released. The Raider is bag-concealable and it can even be holstered if you are willing to pay the $300 CAD price for an Outside the Waistband rig.

Mark, I had a kPos for a Glock 17. I enjoyed it while I had it. It was fun to do pcc with a pistol chassis.

I've always shied away from the clamshell-style "PCC" conversion kits as they seem overly "Plasticky" (if that is even a word!). Sounds like I may have missed out when I had the chance.

I did try an Airsoft G17 clone of the Flux Defense 2-part conversion for a Glock 17 3rd Gen handgun. Unfortunately, once I dremeled out enough material to fit it over the beavertail of my Shadow Systems DR920, I came to the realization that the "steel" (zinc?) Buttstock Struts were very sloppy and prone to shifting about. Now that I have a genuine Flux Raider there is absolutely no comparison whatsoever. The real Flux Raider has a very tight Buttstock lockup when deployed using the spring system. I also didn't like how much extra bulk the Flux G17 system added to my handgun. It made my otherwise excellent-handling "Gucci Glock" feel unwieldy. That was definitely No Bueno, so I quickly ditched that set-up.

I really like the Flux Raider though, notwithstanding the high asking price. Once you get over the sticker shock, it is an excellent system - incredibly well-designed for ease and rapidity of the Buttstock deployment and the initial Magazine change. Very slick indeed!

Pre flux raider: 320 was pretty low on my priority list before the freeze, nothing special, and I made other purchases. No big deal.

Post flux raider: I would bare hand guide my father into my mother for a sig 320.

Thanks for the post Bartok, usually envious of your toys but this one is making me die inside.

I apologize for your pain. Seriously - I'm not out to "one up" anyone, as most folks don't honestly care. Besides, owning something doesn't make YOU cool, it just means you have a cool item. Me, I just like to share new stuff (along assorted prohib "classics") with my fellow enthusiasts, "tactically" oriented or otherwise. I do other stuff as well, like my current mini review of the Dark Mountain Arms "Stowaway" survival rifle chambered in the 5.7x28mm (FN P90) PDW round. Nothing "###y" or "tacticool" about that rifle, but it is still noteworthy as a new addition to the rather limited selection of minimalist/survival type firearms currently on the market.

At the end of the day, the SIG Legion Flux Raider is just a tarted up pistol with a bunch of extremely well-designed and ergonomic features added by way of the Raider chassis. But it is still just a pistol with a 4.2" Barrel and the limited velocity that it brings to the table.

Like:

- Has a Trigger finger-operated, spring-powered, rapid-deployment Buttstock.
- Features a Rapid Reload System whereby one button press releases both magazines simultaneously, allowing the expended rear Mag to drop free to the ground and the the forward spare Mag to be immediately inserted in its place.
- The Slide Stop can be released with a Trigger finger-operated Lever (also the Buttstock Deployment Lever).
- The firearm's 13" x 12"x 2" compact form factor (based on 1 x 10/30 Mag and 1 x 10/21 Mag), allows it to fit into small spaces such as a medium sling-bag. The only smaller chassis (to my knowledge) is the B+T P320 "minimalist" Grip-Frame with a manually-deployed, side-folding Buttstock.
- Durability tested and operationally deployed by US SOCOM forces.
- All steel components are Nitrided for salt water corrosion resistance.

That's about it off the top of my head, although I am surely missing a feature or two. It is enough for most online reviewers to consider the Flux Raider Chassis as "revolutionary", "Game-Changing" and/or "Trend-Setting" (their words, not mine). I wouldn't go quite THAT far, but I do have to admit that the Raider is ergonomically superb with a full feature set and some unique capablities.
