Waiting for a KSG for 8 months and Backorder cancelled

If I had my order canceled like that I would be rattled and likely not do business with the company again but you also have to look around at the root cause of ALOT of the preorder problems in Canada. Lack of deposit, abuse of the system and shameless profiteering. I've been in many hobbies before and I have never seen one that people are so desperate to make a dollar that they will completely buy out the hot new items then sell them used at a mark up.. Sickening . I'd hae a hard time paying 900 for one of these things nevermind our honest EE prices

I don't think my 0.02 is going to help anything here but I'm adding it any way.

I had a similar experience with wolverine. Put down a deposit to order in a ###y Para long slide double action (sooo damn ###y). After a year of waiting and only calling in to ask every 2-3 months I found out my order wasn't going to come in. Wolverine did their best to get me what I had asked for. What stopped me from getting my promised product was all on the manufacruring side. Company changed hands, and that delayed all back orders and when it came time for my order it was no longer an option.

Wolverine stood behind their name and did right by me. Yes I didn't get my para but they were willing to work with me to make up for plans and promises falling through. Solid customer service.

If they were more local for me, most if not all of my business would go through them.

Honestly. I would be very interested in a proper explanation as to the politics behind the decision to drop the Kel Tec line. I suspect it's all to do with Vault ( Canadian Distributor ) and Kel Tec. With recent Kel Tec deliveries to Vault being delayed for months due to Kel Tec dropping the ball on export permits and shipping prohibited high capacity mags in the shipment maybe somewhere in the chain a link has broken now. Maybe Kel Tec has no interest in supplying Canadians. Maybe Vault has no interest in dealing with Kel Tec after this fiasco of permits. A good straight forward answer would be appreciated by all and go a long ways to showing why Wolverine has unfortunately been put in the position it has.

I am satisfied with John's explanation; it's not politics, just the bottom line - it doesn't make business or financial sense to have to manage a list of hundreds of prospective customers, for product that will likely take several years to obtain, if ever. And we're not just talking about one product line, we're talking almost all of Kel Tec's products.

Quite frankly, I am not surprised or even remotely disappointed. As a matter of fact, I have a new level of respect for John for having made what was surely a tough decision, and being up front with us. Shows a lot for the integrity of a company.

Most companys just pin the magazine when it comes in so they just have to declare it at the border.

I got lucky, I walked into a store last week that had 3 on the counter (a Kel Tec dealer who does not advertise these) and asked how long it would be for me to wait to get one. They sold me one on the spot. Had they said no or made me wait a year, I would not have blown my top. They are what they are, if you can get one great, but no one is entitled to one.

Still waiting to hear where this guy picked up his...............????????

As the original poster, I have an update. I spoke to Ryan of Wolverine and placed a pre-order for the UTS-15 today missed the first shipment but I am in-line for one in may-june.

I watched some of the videos on first gen units and was a bit concerned and laughed at some of the posters who complained about a firearm they had no time to familiarize themselves with yet. After having a 20 minute chat with Ryan he explained that the UTS-15 is in its 3rd or 4th generation and acknowledged that the first gen and second gen had some issues. He further stated that Wolverine techs have been working with UTAS gunsmiths to iron these issues out, good enough for me.

This thread brought out a bunch of issues, but I stand behind my initial complaint about how they dealt with it. The e-mail was short and brusque and should have been better with some sort of explanation. Those of you who seem to think that since I did not leave a deposit I should not complain, bite me. That was Wolverine's decision to not have a deposit system in place, had they asked for one I would have left one. I currently have deposits on 2 Type 97's (not Wolverine since they do not offer them) as well as a UTS-15 now.

That being said, I am still doing business with Wolverine and that is my choice.

In my mind Wolverine did respond to the community on this issue and to my eventual satisfaction.

Regards,

Joseph
