I have waited 6-8 months for a laminated stainless varmint model in .204. Its stock with Stoegers in Minny. How long do these situations take to resolve themselves?

I ordered mine from the US and had it imported by Prophet River after I was quoted 8 to 12 months of wait by Stoeger Canada.

I almost bought this gun in 223 last week in Edmonton. Went with a CZ instead for half the price. Bought it from Clay at Prophet River. Great purchase experience.
 
I've had a Sako 85 Varmint Laminate in 204 on order for 11 months now. I did mange to find a real nice Sako 75 Varmint Laminate in 222 to keep me entertained while I wait for the 204 to arrive. I will wait until spring for the 204 and if it is still not here then I will buy one in a 22-250. I will then take the model 75 and have it rebarreled to a 204.
 
Got the phone call from Clay that my rifle will be shipped to me in the morning after a 12month wait. I've also got a Burris Black Diamond 6X24X50 scope getting here any day now. I will post some pics when it is togeather and if I can get a path to my shooting bench and backstop I will let you know how it shoots.
 
That's a long time to wait for a rifle, you guys are way more patient than this guy!

I would be looking south of the border and have it brought up if the wait time was 6 months or more!
 
Waiting for a Sako is a chore most are not willing to make! Since they have taken off in the US the last 5-7 years, Canada seams to be second fiddle to our big brothers to the South! I know fellows who ordered Sako's that did not arrive till almost 2 years later!!If you want a Sako real bad and its not available in Canada, like others suggest ,get Clay Smiley to import one from the US, good luck, DZ~
 
Sako 85 laminated.204

I just picked up a Sako 85 laminated today in 22-250 and they have another in .204, pretty nice with the XS action. If you are looking PM me and I will give you the dealers name, it is on Van. Is. BC Cheers
 
Been told by a dealer that the problem lies with stoeger not Sako, the dealer asked Sako why the delay and was told on Sako's end the maximum wait is 6 months, the rest is down to the Canadian distributor

My dealer just informed me that the rifle is at stoeger canada and he said that it will be here around Feb 6th. Here's hoping. Im hoping to have it set up and ready for gopher season. The Cooper being single shot just doesnt cut it.
