Ok, waiting lists are being phased in... Nothing happens automatically yet, what's currently there is just for visual purposes, to get feedback and some testing for people.
The idea is as follows: if there is a squad you'd like to be on, but that squad is full, you can signup for that squad's waiting list. The system will keep track of who's signed up when, so it's first-come-first serve. Everyone can see who's waiting for what squads (match administrators can see the names of the people signed up and can remove them from the list, shooters only see the display nicknames, and they can't do anything on that list). you can remove yourself from the waiting list anytime, but you lose your place if you re-sign up.
Note that this is done on a per-squad basis, so even if you are already signed up to a match, you can still signup on waiting lists of other squads, if you'd like to move and shoot at a different time.
If matches are listed as closed or hidden, no changes to waiting lists will be allowed.
This is what have so far. What I want to do next is enable automatic signup, so whenever an opening appears on a squad, the first person from the waiting list gets added automatically (with an email, probably), and then is removed from any other waiting list and/or squad for that match that (s)he might be registered in.
There is a thing I need to work out first (dealing with the admin swapping people between squads, without activating the auto signup), and an ability by the admin to shut this process off, but that will be happening in the next little while...
So, take a look, and any comments/etc, let me know (here is fine). Like I said, you can do whatever you want with the waiting list(s) now, it won't affect any of your registrations, these are just for display/testing purposes only...
