Walker death triggers!!

Anyone who relys on a safety, thats there fault, and lack of a general firearm knowledge that anything mechanical can fail.

I personally will not chamber a round hunting until after a double backflip off of the horse, then chamber and shoot from the hip at a 36 point buck at 500 metres.

The Walker Death Trigger is easily misadjusted by amateurish gunsmithing, creating an unsafe condition whereby a loaded rifle, when pointed at an unsuspecting nearby human being, fires itself causing much anguish and suffering.

Remington has issued a press release indicating that all future production of the model 700 will be equipped with an improved, safer, and user-adjustable mechanism, the Remington Accu-Death Trigger.

Backyard gunsmiths, documentary journalists and liability attorneys await with bated breath.

I wish it didn't involve firearms just for the publicity, but I enjoy sudden new waves of Darwinism. Firestone tires exploding and toyotas sticking full throttle and now remingtons shooting by themselves...

Is there a comet flying nearby like in Maximum Overdrive or is Earth just getting bored of using earthquakes and hurricanes to slow us down :)

I dont' remove my combination locked trigger guard until I see a Deer :);)

I personally rather not make any more noise/movements then I have to in the stand / blind so if a deer/moose/bear shows up near where Im waiting...Ive already got a round chambered.

I personally bring a LEE hand press with me in my jacket pocket and don't assemble my cartridges until the animal is infront of me.

Can never be too safe I say.

Not Remingtons problem, it clearly states in the owners manual they are not to be adjusted. Anyone who is not a compitant smith should not be adjusting any triggers.

Never had a problem with 3 of my death triggers, but the trigger pull weight was a little bit much. I was thinking of selling them to Guntech though, he is hoarding them.

Hmmmmmm......... I bought one cheap, from you! You didn't have an accident with it did you?:p

:D :D :D :D Seen that coming.

You luckily caught me when I was desperate for money to get my Sako 85 off lay-away and into my hands :p .

I sold 2 gorgeous Model 700's and a nice tactical 870 to finance that Sako :(

That damned Guido wont sell me back my CDL SF either :kickInTheNuts:

The best thing about Remingtons, is you can buy them cheap and resell them to nitwits.

Have you ever been to an F-class match?
At least half the line run Remington 700 actions. I bet you at a minimum, TR class and F-class shooters average several hundred rounds a year, to an easy 1000 for each calendar year attending formal matches with handload workups in between.
I myself have owned Remington hunting rifles since 1988, and have yet to experience any problems at all.

Just tossing this into the pile, but if someone dies from an accidental discharge while loading, unloading, safety going on, off etc, then maybe the gun shouldn't have been pointed at a person.... For something clearly a mechanical issue, fine. However, there's too much grey in this whole remington story for me to believe it's anything more than people with bad muzzle control nudging their trigger.

havn't you guy's figgerd this out yet , remi's are posessed by like devils ,so we ever you load one and point it at someone it don't like it go's off just like all other fire arms. Why would you point a loaded weapon at another human unless you wanted to off him???

If Remington should have made a design change I guess Winchester and Paul Mauser should have too...
I have seen more 'problems' with Winchester and Mauser 98 triggers than I have with 700's.
...

What "problems" have you seen with either a model 70 or a Mauser 98 factory rifle? I don't mean rifles dicked with by some idiot. Just a little curious as both of these triggers have very few moving parts.
Regards

Safety problems where they did not function correctly. Some were altered, some were not...
