You should see the Canadian Tire on the south hill here in Red Deer. I hear tha guy that runs this one is a gun nut. CZ, Winchester, Ruger, Mossberg, Remington, Savage, Browning, Pretty much every type of pistol & rifle ammo you can think of. Tasco & Bushnell scopes(nice ones not just the economy models) The people behind the counter are usually knowleagable, And don't give you attitudes. Never seen another CT like it.

Up until K-Mart left Canada they sold Rifles and Shotguns in the Northwood Mall K-Mart in Edmonton. I also remember back in the late 80's early 90's the Canadian Tire store in Brandon, Man sold both 5.56 and 7.62 Norinco AKS, RPK and SKS along with every type of ammo you could think of. From what I can remember the manager of Sporting goods was also a GunNut.

Is anything made in N. America anymore ? I checked out the high end camouflage ($400) and low end camouflage ($120) suits everyone is buying for turkey season, ALL were made in vietnam/china etc. I checked out a bunch of electronics last week, ALL were made in china/japan. I checked out furniture a couple of months back. ALL was made in china etc.

For a long time now investors realized they can pay 2 cents a hour to someone overseas to make stuff, make 5x as much profit, and retire at 35 years old.

People don't call it "China-Mart" for nothing ;)

I just talked to a guy in charge of the 4th Street walmart sports section in St Catharines.

He hasn't heard anything from head office about phasing out ammo and hunting stuff.

BUT

He has ordered ammo multiple times and is not getting any shipped to him from the main distrib whare house.

Draw your own conclusions
