walmart droping most 22 ammo

My walmart in N. Van seems to be restocking with Winchester replacing the Federal stuff, they seem to go through cycles and I suspect that it may have to do with them buying in bulk rather than buying in packets.
 
Also look at the "facelift" CDN Tire stores, much reduced ammo selection from a couple of years ago. I hate paying more but the collective we need to be shopping at the local sporting goods stores.
 
some .22 ammo is on sale now in brantford. only ones i noticed were .22 shotshells for half price i think and maxi mags for $3 off i believe. alot of each were there...just a heads up;)

might be worth a little drive to buy the 15-20 packs of maximags if your gun(s) like them.

I do. Those are the only places here that even carry ammo but even then the pickings are slim. I rarely go out of town and getting ammo shipped in from somewhere else is around $25.

wtf you want a bass pro in very province for:confused: the one in ontario has high prices if you ask me...and many others. bunch of idiots that likely dont even know their own name working there too:rolleyes: ive heard that bass pro in ontario doesnt stock nearly as much as the ones in the US. one thing i do like though is when they have stuff on sale its pretty cheap, if they ever have the stuff in stock.

never been to a cabelas store so i have nothing to ##### about that store...yet.
 
If you have ever been in retail business, you will know that the distribution system works to give volume discounts. Most suppliers won't even set up an account unless you are going to buy at least $10,000 annually. If you are Wal-Mart you tell suppliers how much you will pay and if they won't sell for that you go next door. So, when Wal-Mart decides they don't make enough on a line and drop it, you are scr**ed because chances are the local gunshop has already gone out of business because his volume was too low, along with too many regulatory hurdles to jump. Look at the number of hardware stores that no longer carry guns or Ammo. And if you think your gun club could buy ammo to save money, it won't work unless it is a big club with a retail store operation that makes it worthwhile to deal with all the paper and government BS. So, you have a choice. If you are buying enough ammo maybe your local store will give club/volume discounts. Oherwise, you can grit your teeth and pay the price. Don't even THINK about smuggling in ammo from U.S.
 
I told you so, yet know one believed me! Three differant Walmarts have told me that they will not be selling any ammo in Ontario soon. Just airsoft & pellet guns!

Bass Pro had a condition attached to their Business Licence with the City of Vaughan before they were issued a licence to sell ammo/guns. No handgun products of any type are to be sold! No lead,case,brass,primers.......nothing pistol related. The store is trying to get some products in and are currently fighting with the City.

Of course my letter to the Mayor of Vaughan complaining about this discrimation has yet to be answered. I mailed it over a year ago.

As far as importing ammo into the US, you can legally bring 5,000 rounds of .22 over they border, but only 3 model rocket engines. Go figuire, I might aim my little model rockets at the USA

In the us many Walmarts are discontinueing sale of ammo and rifles.
They say the reason is that they want to keep in line with local communities ideas and opnions on their sale. No problems in most states.
$ .78 (US) for Thunderbolts.
 
Also, as a follow up, some walmarts are posting "No Concealed weapons" on their doors in these same areas, while most others still allow licensed
people to carry concealed. I believe that walmart is slowly inching toward
a point of view that Sam Walton didn't have in mind when he started the business.
 
Uh, Chigger most stores don't want people carrying inside. I know that Cabela's, a pro-gun store if ever there was one, wants people to check their handguns at the door. I this because they as me for mine once, broke my heart to say no.
 
You're right...I'm sure that all stores would rather no one carry at all. Walmart and everyone else. That seems to be the way that most corps are headed. Yet, if the sign isn't on the door, I'm packing like everyone else. In our area, there are no walmarts that don't allow concealed carry. In a discussion I had a short time back with a corporate walmart customer svc person, she said that walmart says that they are wanting to work within the frame work and feelings of the community where each store is located...in the U.S. Some stores in some locations dont sell rifles or ammo. Some sell only ammo. Some will sell both but not at the same time. Some sell rifles and ammo any way you want it. Fortunately I live in such a community. It's Ala Carte....What changes that come tomorrow is
something that I can't change and will accept and just go on with life.

...proberbly in one of Walmart's own casket, I heard last year some US stores were selling funeral caskets (proberbly made in China)
 
I bought thunderbolts at walmert, never again, this weekend I was averaging 3 misfire per bx of 50. When they went off they were ok, but varied in power a lot. You could hear the differance in the report and feel the change in recoil. The Dynapoints are great.

Haven't seen Dynapoints at WallyWorld for a year or more. My Nork M-93 Woodsman will only eat Thunderbolts for some reason...
