I agree. However sometimes those shops just don’t work for the customers with the hours they keep. I was working in a small city with one outdoors store and the opened after I was at work and closed before I was done work. Canadian Tire and Walmart were the only options.

For those not totally familiar with retail the bean counters calculate the (value) of every inch of retail space. If a product is not "turning over" enough to meet the threshold of whatever their minimum is, it gets pulled.
And in the case of Walmart, it's just not one of the first places you think of when you need a box of ammo. And when that's the case, Walmart will delist the product. If they aren't in the top 3 places that come to mind for a product, "for them" it's wasted floor space.
