Walter PPQ verses HK VP9 .. trigger?

Hey ,
I’m interested in one of these Stryker pistols and wondering if anyone could give me some info on the triggers.
From my research, it appears that these two have the best out of the box triggers.
But the HK reviews say that the trigger is different and you need to get a feel for it ???

I’m looking for the one with the least amount of pre travel, shortest reset, around 4 to 5 lbs of trigger pull weight.
So what do you think? Is this possible? Out of the box? Or will I need to do upgrades?

I’ve already did the shadow thing,so I’m not interested in a DA/SA.

I own several PPQs. The trigger is phenomenal. My Q5 Match triggers once broken in come in around 5lbs maybe a little less. With a simple TRS replacement you can reduce the pull weight to 3lbs. There is quite a bit of pretravel but the reset is really short. With the PPQ you're good to run it right out of the box. The only thing I ever change is the TRS to bring the trigger pull down to 3lbs. No other mods are necessary.
 
Are all the PPQ triggers equally good? Or just the Q5 ? Is there a mod to shorten up the pre travel?
 
I have both......

The HK is easier to rack due to its square slide and the 2 removable winglets. It has a red loaded chamber indicator and 3 interchangeable backstraps and grip shells.
The PPQ's slide is triangular with a heavier spring so it's a little harder to rack (slippery), it comes with only 3 backstraps.
The mag release on the PPQ (if you go paddle) is longer and easier to use with either finger or thumb, the HK is shorter and I have to use both, finger and thumb to depress it correctly.
The PPQ seems a bit light forward and you can feel it is a bit snappier the the HK.
I prefer the polymer of the PPQ, has it seems and feels more dense.

The pre travel is a bit shorter on the HK but the reset is shorter on the PPQ. On both guns as soon as the pre travel is passed and you hit the wall/stop, both break instantly, but the PPQ is a tad crispier.
Also when I dry fire both, the PPQ has a nice short, audible, precise click that stops immediately, on the HK the click is a bit louder and longer with a little more vibration but that could be from the firing pin/spring.

I prefer the PPQ ( I own the Navy and the Q5) wich I use for IDPA and target shooting, IMO the trigger is a little better. If it was for CCW I would probably take the HK.

I like the looks of the HK , but it appears the PQ has the slight edge.
 
The Gunnutz people better not watch the Military Arms Channel guy testing guns.........for entertainment purposes only, not scientific. Looks like he has fun doing them though.
Funny right after he said the VP9 would not fire after putting it under water there were many videos of guys immersing their VP9's and then immediately firing them successfully.

Both, IPSC for fun, target shooting 25 yards and some plinking at steel.

I’ve owned Glock, M&P,CZ10,FN but didn’t like the triggers.
CZ Shadow 1 and 2 , im not a fan of the DA.
I’m looking for a Strker fired with good accuracy potential,a short pre travel, trigger with a 4 to 5 lb pull,and adjustable sights.
I do t mind doing a few upgrades to get there.

From my research, I’ve ended up with these two and the HK looks more appealing.
I can’t handle one though,so I’m not sure if it’s bulky like the CZ10F or more of a slimmer design? Lower bore ?

The slide on the HK is bulkier but the PPQ has a longer barrel (overall length) due to the threaded barrel and protector, if that is important to you. You also have to consider if you want a paddle mag release or push button, as I am not certain if we have the HK yet in Canada with the button.

I didn’t realize the PPQ had a threaded barrel.
I’m not sure if the paddle release is a thing or not.
I don’t think it would bother me though.

When you say bulkier, more than a Glock? Or similar to a sig 320.
 
PPQ trigger is A MA ZING , SFP9 is meh. Probably the worst of all SF pistol i owned (PPQ, P10F, M&P2.0 and HK) got to agree the grip on the PPQ is slippery and i find it has alot of muzzle flip. The paddle release on the PPQ is amazing too i cant see why HK made their so short i find it worst to use than a button release being so short.

I would put the HK between the PPQ and the Glock /Sig. (PPQ, HK,Sig, Glock) You can avoid a threaded barrel on the PPQ if you take the 5'' if that is your thing.
