Walther Handgun

First of all, decide on which generation you want, there are three. The latest generation (and possibly 2nd Gen) include a longer mag release, which makes dumping a mag soooo much easier.
As well, decide on which action you want. My 1st Gen AS .40 was a natural shooter. Typical DA/SA action with a rather strange-concept "Anti-Stress trigger take-up. I was hitting point-of-aim right otta the box with this.

My 3rd Gen QA in .40 was a completely different story. Walther should be hung by the short'n curlies for letting the QA out of the plant with such an atrocious trigger. It's a kind of long single action with a trigger pull that literally left my finger aching after 2-4 mags. Abominal! I tracked down a EWalther forum and found instructions on how to improve the trigger. I love my Walther QA so much that I ended up selling off the AS. Trigger pull is wayyy down.

Oh, and by the way. I bought the 1st Gen AS brand new a year ago for $700. The Gen 3 QA had a coupla hundred rounds on it, I got that one for $750. New 3rd Gen's go for a fortune but imho, you shouldn't be paying more than the prices I mentioned for either a new-in-box 1st Gen or a used anything.
