I'd like to get some information on my Walther .22 RF. It is like a KKJ sporter..same action, through-stock safety, same 5 shot clip, etc...except that it has no open rear sight or any provison for mounting one...instead it has an all steel click adjustable Walther factory receiver peep sight and a matching globe front sight set up....the receiver sight attaches to the receiver grooves. Also, the stock is different from the light sporter. It has a larger, "beavertail" type forestock...nice walnut, checkering, Euro-style cheepkiece, etc. It is a very nice rifle, but I see no mention of it anywhere I have looked...just the KKJ sporters in .22 and .22 hornet etc...but no mention of this target KKJ. It is not listed in the Blue book or any other price guide that I have consulted. This is no conversion, but a fcatory rifle all the way. Any ideas where I can look for information?

By the sounds of it you have an older style prone target rifle. By older I mean that some or most of the newer ones are now in aluminum stocks. The latest and greatest? Walther's are KK300 models.
Does your rifle a an aluminum or metal rail cut into the bottom of the forestock?
On Anshutz rifles there is a number stamped on the barrel just in front of the action, this is the year of manufacture. ie.78 was made it 1978. I am not sure if Walther did the same or not.

These are some of the target grade sporting rifles that were the most popular with Canadian shooters in the old "Sporting Rifle" class competetions.

No slings or other support were allowed.Weight was restricted, so that a CIL/Anschutz 190 class rifle could not compete in the same class, but the CIL/ASnschutz 180 could.

Your version, with original Walther competetion sights , vg or better $500 to $750, IMHO

I've owned a couple of the single shot versions. Nice little guns. I understand that this was a model specially made for the Canadian market.

I've never seen the repeater, but I picked mine up for $200 and $300. I have seen them at gun shows for up to $650 but that would be a little rich for me.
They can be seen used in current SFC "Sporting Rifle" matches in most if not all provinces. With the right guy at the controls they can kick butt.

SP

Yes and moderately expensive.
You would be better off starting your own thread - it's frowned upon, hijacking some else's thread.

I see you did have a thread a few posts below. Didn't like the answers you got there?

I found a spare magazine for mine at a gun show a few years. It was in the bottom of a box of parts, and the vendor gave it to me for free because he didn't know what kind of gun it fit. I shrugged and said I didn't know either, and smiled to myself as I walked away. :p
