Walther Model 1 Bolt/Semi Ammo ?

I have had some experience with this type over the years, the one above was the last I owned and probably the best example of a Model 1 I have ever seen. You have to remember that while these are extremely well engineered and well made and the steel was the best available in the day, it was designed to withstand pressures from rim fire ammo of that era, which may have even included black powder cartridges. Do not use modern high / hyper velocity ammo, especially in the semi-auto mode or you may damage an otherwise finely made rifle of a 100 years ago, I only used standard / target velocity ammo in any that I have owned and with good results. Remember that this is a standard blow-back type action that relies on springs to cycle the bolt, and with time the springs loose their tension, and using high-velocity ammo under these conditions could end up in receiver failure. When checking out the Model 1 & 2 give careful inspection to the inside of the rear receiver area for very fine hair line fractures which may indicate that it may have been fed some improper ammo before you received it. Some parts are still available, but are super expensive, not sure, but I may still have a parts breakdown sheet for this model, pm me if interested and I will try to locate a copy.
