Walther P-38 9mm price check

Anywhere from the price of scrap metal up to $650 or more the USA. Pics?
Does it have a little ac over 43, or a big AC over 43? And on the same left side it will have a 4diget ser # plus a letter. Look below that and see if the same #'s are on the frame,then point the barrel right at you and look at the front of the frame(see the same #'s)? On the same left side after the ser# on the frame do you see a war eagle?
If so flip the pistol over and look on the upper slide(in the middle)do you see inspection marks Then a War Eagle then inspection marks again?
If so then you are ready to take the slide off(comes off just like an M-9) The locking block should be in the white(not blued) and the last three numbers and the letter will be on the block. And in 43 the mags weren't numbered but your mag should have P-38 on the left side and war eagle on back!
Thats a start and if all those are there plus the white safe and red fire under the decocker,then if the gun has not been refinnished it would be worth maybe 700-900 here(if the grips are good) matbe a dark brownish (they have #'s under them as well ,not ser#;s). That enought to start with?

Well it looks promising you can see the slide and frame match and there is red under the safety,and usually when people use white paint to enhance the letters they are trying to m ake a point!

What you have there is an average mid War Walther. High production figures in 1943 and a quite common P38 (about 150 000 AC 43 P38s produced). Bore condition would be critical for establishing value but at best you have a $350-425.00 pistol (depending on the buyer) For an original P.38v, spine proofed single E359 mag expect to pay $75-100.00 (this would not raise the pistol's value but just make it ``correct``)
