Thought maybe I would bring this thread back up. I brought in a few of these surplus pistols, and they look un-issued. Sealed up in there bags. Although the grips are worn, the pistols themselves are new. Pulled one out for some photos, dated 1969. Holsters that come with them are new. Very cool pieces of Cold War history.

This particular pistol is refurbished in Dec of 1982. So its not un-issued. They would probably have ep serial numbers on locking blocks as well. Frame is definitely from later period than 9/69.
Majority of these pistols have force matched numbers as they were used up and refinished untill 1994 in west German service.
