Walther P1 problem

It seems to be jamming up.

There are dual springs along each side of the action, with a little rod inside each spring.

I am wondering if this rod was supposed to have an end-cap?

OK, I took the broken rods out. The heads have broken off.

They are PLASTIC!!!

New ones appear to be steel, by the looks of the picture.

Plastic rod with a plastic head. no wonder it broke.

Ganderite, please update this thread when you receive the parts. If they are metal then I will also order a replacement set for my P1.

Numrich parts arrived. The spring guides are steel. They will not insert from the front, into the spring. Too fat.

You can compress the spring back, insert the guide, then release the spring onto the guide. Or:

Insert the guide and screw the spring into the channel through the opening at the back of the channel.

The plastic guides look like a problem because the head of the guide holds the spring in compression
