they are threaded, but I can't compare it to mosquito cuz I don't have one. Barrel is very thin and has a shroud around it and that thread at the end of a barrel is for a nut that press shroud alongside the barel into barrel clamp. If you are planning to use it for any kind of attachment than you have to keep in mind that thread is what holds barrel in place so to speak.
