so, i have a walther p22. i bought it because i love the look of the walther and it feels good in my hands. it actually looks like a gun. the sad part is it isn't that accurate. i want to get rid of it and get an accurate .22. does anyone know what a .22 (that looks like a gun, not a ruger mark l, ll, or lll) is. i would appreciate it very much. thanks.

Have you tried different ammo? I've got a P22 and have never had any problems with accuracy. I'm not shooting matches with it, but for target plinking it's been great - same with a couple buddies who also have P22's.
If you're set on another gun and accuracy is the key feature, the Ruger Mark III hunter may be for you. It's a benchmark in rimfire autopistols, very pointable and with the bull barrel it's accurate as hell.

Now comes in 22/45 flavour!
For something that looks real, I would go with the either the CZ Cadet in semi or SW 617 in revolver. Both seem to be made from full size frames and have the same weight and feel of the big brothers. Th CZ mag is even a full size mag with a .22 insert in it

well, keep in mind that 'accurate' is a very relative term. For example, for me, accurate is being able to hit the loonie-sized 10 ring at 20 yeards, in an ISU (bullseye) competition. Under that definition, my Pardini SPE is accurate, and the P22 is very much NOT accurate. If, on the other hand, all you care about it hitting the paper somewhere in/near the black on the same target, then sure, the P22 is accurate.
i have to agree with omen... with the p22 i can consistently break clays at 25 yards free-standing. i found it took me a little while to tweak my strong hand grip. admittedly i bought the p22 for my wife, for whom it fits perfectly... and she has no trouble getting a 4" group at 25 yards.

I thought I was having accuracy problems with my P22 until I changed the front sight. I now hit the 10 ring consistantly at 20 yards with the iron sights. I have a holo sight on it now and the accuracy is great out to 25 yds.
that might be the problem. i have a glock 17 and a friend and i were tring to shoot an in size target with the walther. after 10 clips, we switched to other guns. he was shooting hit target .45 1911 and i had my glock. we were shooting from 20 yards away, and i hit it on my first shot. dead centre. i still am going to sell it and use the money towards a hunting rifle. i am going to get a conversion kit for my glock. that might not work either though. oh well. thanks alot for the info guys.
Make sure the barrel nut is tight. The sights on my p22 i thought where kinda hookkky so I put a laser sights on it and if i do my part it will do 1 1/2 inch group at 25 yards , a lot better then 4 inch group it was doing.
Do not bother tightenning the screws on the compensator. It gets loose after some time anyway. Your P22 should come with several different sights. Choose the smaller one I believe and put it in the opening on the slide. That will make your shooting more consistent. I did that and it worked well for me. Having said that P22 is definitely not a target gun, but it is great for practicing. It is so light I can shoot it for hours and my arm does not get tired.
