Just wondering if there is anyone here that either owns one, or has fired one. I was thinking of getting one to practice with, and to save $ on ammo. How do you think think they preform good? bad? any information on this pistol would be great.

I did a lot of research on them Dan, and bought one.
They certainly can be problematic, you should read up on w w w .rimfirecentral.com before picking one up. I hear the new ones are great, '05 and '06 manufacturing dates, the earlier ones have a few bugs that can be fixed, or lived with.
Myself, i bought an '04 used, knowing what they are all about, and the only complaint i have so far is the odd empty casing flying at my head. And i remember reading some where how to fix it, i think i need to tweak the extractor spring.
I shot just about as tight a grouping as with my S&W 22A, which is also fun to shoot.

I had one and returned it to the store because the brass would eject into my face. Other than that it was great. I could have tweaked around with it but since it was my first handgun I didn't want to deal with it. If you don't mind working on your guns go for it. The reputation doesn't seem to be great but your mileage may vary.

Try and do a search here on CGN as well. There are alot of happy P22 owners (most of whom have recent mfg guns) but at the same time, there are more than a few former P22 owners (myself included) who got stuck with a dud and ended up returning it or having it sent for repair (my P22's repair took over a year :-( ).
