was thinking of buying a walther p99. i would like to know all of the pros and cons of this gun. looks sweet!!!

I have one & love it!

Pros: Adjustable grip & sights so it fits like you want it to. (oh, and as a Bond gun, it's ###y)
Cons: It is on the tactical side of guns, so guns with a longer bbl like a beretta 92FS would (Im guessing) be more accurate.

Nice gun. I like the loaded chamber indicator, like the ergonomics. Cons is that you need to get used to the mag release, and some people don't like the trigger (I do though).

Accuracy is way up there. They hold under 2 inches at 25 meter with
factory ammo. They come with bench test targets which are a lot more
impressive than those I have seen shipped with other tupperware / alloy
guns. Tune the ammo and you'll get closer to 1 inch at 25 meters.

Best ergonomics IMO and great for people with small hands. It has a
re-strike capability.

I have one in .40 S&W.

For the most part I love it.........

There have been some issues.

They appear to have had some quality issues with their resin.

The "Fire control module" which contains all the sear parts etc is prone to breakage. It appears they may have a better design now.

Mine broke about a month ago,.

Silentguy's broke back in march. His was only a month old so it was covered under waranty. Mine is a 2002 model so I was SOL.
Mind you the module was only $65 and took all of 5 minutes to replace ( 1 rollpin)

Their mags also have problems with the plastic on the bases. Some generations of bases EXPLODE if you look at them sideways. Hell I had some blow out due to the pressure of the 10th round.

Again they appear to have correctedt his problem.

As to ergonomics? I LOVE IT!!
The mag release is super fast for me.............

Not to mention how can you go wrong with James Bonds Gun??????

We have had lots of parts breakage over fairly small round counts. Ejectors (requiring new fire control moduals), slide stops, and barrels plus rear sights becoming loose in the dovetail, . Most recently a slide cracked.

All of my guns were older production but the fire control moduals were new, and they are still breaking.

Keep in mind that our round counts are fairly high on our range guns. Even so I have not been impressed with the P99s.
