I am looking at buying one of these, but honestly, have no idea what length to buy in full size? Local shop was not much help, said" whatever length u prefer" . What difference will I notice? Sorry for the noob question, quite new to handguns.

4" is prohib in Canada
4.5" has shorter slide/barrel but longer grip. Can't take standard PPQ mags
5" has long slide but shorter grip than the 4.5 and can take standard PPQ mags, the 4.5 mags will extend a bit.
In my opinion the 4.5" looks better but I would love to get a 4" grip for the 4.5" model. The 5" never looked good to me, especially with a a short grip, kinda disproportioned

What he said, except that with the full size (longer grip) you have the choice of 4.5 or 5 inch barrel.
With the compact you can only have the 5’’.
I took full size with 4.5’’
Ok

If you have ever shot a Walther PPQ M1 or M2 the PDP compact 5 inch "almost" identical in size and it will accept PPQ mags. The longer 5 inch slide works for me as my tired eyes find it easier to acquire the front sight. I still have not switched to a red dot.

IMHO the slight extra weight of the 5 inch will assist in felt recoil and muzzle flip. They are a great firearm. Whatever length or size you choose to buy, you will not be disappointed.
