Holosun or Vortex Venom, both are more than adequate. The Venom has a better sight picture and the 6moa dot is very fast to pick up. The Holosun is just a fantastic optic, every model is nice from a simple 407 to their ACSS retinal models they are awesome. Love the shake awake on the Holosun but my competition optic is the Vortex, personally find it quicker to pick up the dot
Holosun 507C X2 with the ACSS reticle. Tenda, Solely and a few other places have them in Canada well under $500. Very good reticle for people new to red dots. Watch some youtube on it. They fit on the Trijicon plate. Can't speak to the Vortex but I've heard they drift easily and 6 MOA is a big dot.
The Leupold Delta Point Pro 2.5 or 6MOA seems a reasonable price and they have a plate for it. In stock at a few shops in Canada.
I'm waiting for the same pistol to be in my hands before I jump on an optic but it will probably be the Leupold or a Trijicon RMR.
You'll have to bump your price point a couple hundred plus for either of the above.
Did you have to do any mods to make the Vortex work? I see on the plate request form is says "for PDP, the following optics will not work without modification: Vortex Venom".
Optic Plate Request
Optic Plates for Q4 and Q5 Models can only be requested on new models with Item Numbers starting with 284****
**Screws that come with Trijicon optic plate are for Trijicon optics only**
For PDP, the following optics will not work without modification: Vortex Venom, Burris Fast Fire 3, Sightmark M-Spec, Springfield Dragonfly
Be patient they get restocked. Can't find any Holosun in stock anywhere.
Is the Leupold worth the extra money?
Black Box Customs has a good selection of Holosuns in stock, They are also a forum sponsor.
If you fill out the optics plate request form on the Walther website they will forward your request to Gravel, the Canadian distributor.
When they get stock in they will send you your plate.
If you are still waiting on a transfer Id recommend calling the shop you ordered from, getting your guns serial number and submitting your optic plate request asap. This will allow you to wait for your optic plate at the same time as waiting for your transfer.
For what it's worth I am really happy with my Holosun 507C on my PDP.

OP I wound up getting the Leupold for my PDP. Should get the optic around the same time the pistol arrives late next week.
Unfortunately Gravel Agency is backordered on all the optic plates for the PDP (you fill out the plate request on the Walther site and they forward the info to Gravel who are the Canadian Distributors).
I'm waiting for them to reply to my question if it is Gravel's backorder only, or is Walther having supply issues.
Marstar has the green dot in stock! https://marstar.ca/product/holosun-...2-pistol-green-dot-sight-acss-vulcan-reticle/
I called Gravel as well and was told the same, NO plates in stock. Not sure how that's possible but certainly disappointed. I bought the PDP so I would have something I could mount an optic to. Hopefully not backordered for long.
Leopold looks like a good choice.
Just got an email from Gravel. The plates are coming from Germany and they don't have any idea what the ETA is ....![]()
