UPDATE: Walther and Gravel confirmed that I received the wrong plate, and the latter will send a new proper one. Hopefully the wait isn’t too long…

Finally got my new Walther PDP after a 2+ month wait for the transfer, and it's looking like Walter and/or Gravel sent me the wrong optic plate.

PDP Optic Plate 1.jpg

My PDP is the newer 2.0 version, but I'm thinking they incorrectly sent me the 1.0 version plate.

Is there really supposed to be that big a gap at the end of the plate? And while the mounting holes align, the plate doesn't seem to work with any of the contours on the new 2.0 optics cut.

I'm quite certain I requested the 2.0 plate since I even confirmed the serial number with Walther customer support before ordering my optic plate.

Can anyone speak to what the PDP version 2.0 plate is supposed to look like?

Does it fit? Is it secure? Does it look exactly like the photos that are on the Walther website to show you what the different gen plates look like?
While I sympathize that there's a gap there looking at you like an English ladies teeth... if it fits right, who cares. I'd be more worried about how awful that gun's duplo-chunk slide looks over the little gap there. Just sell the friggin' thing for the price of a Shadow Systems and get one of those instead LOL.

I have not looked at those, buy It looks off like that, It always bugs me that you have a cut slide for whatever sight, but than you need to use a plate, which raises the sight way up again.
I ran into that with the Canik , and my 1911, those you lose the back sight when you put the plate on.
I would phone and check, or email a picture to them and see what they say.
all the force during recoil is on the front end of the plate, but I would make a filler ,if you don't get any solution from Walther . a job to make it stay, 2 small roll pins maybe?

It appears you have a 1.0 plate.

If you read here: https://waltherarms.com/2021/03/15/walther-pdp-optic-plate-mounting-system-2/

The purpose of the Next Generation Optic Mounting Plate design is to lengthen the overall optic cut area in order to accommodate a greater number of existing red dots as well as those forthcoming in the not-so-distant future. (Emphasis mine)

I just ordered my optic plate last night as my PDP also finally arrived. The order from Gravel says “new gen” and lists a part number. This should match the part number on the Walther website.

Part numbers are here. https://waltherarms.com/optic-plate-request/

PDPG2 for the RMR is: 5136196

Did you have any packaging that would indicate a different part number, and did your order form from Gravel match?

Anyone know where I can buy a proper 2.0 plate in a hurry? I rather not wait more months.

The invoice Gravel def. does not say "new gen."

And it's a different part number entirely.

This is the Gen 2 plate I got from Gravel. If yours differs, perhaps they sent you the wrong one. They should have the Gen 2 plates in stock. I received mine after a week.

Congrats btw!

My PDP does not have a gap like that. FDG serial number makes mine a Gen 1 and the optic plate fits perfect. I can't confirm your plates SKU # as Gravel didn't send any info with my plate...wasn't even in a nice bag like yours

I agree with everyone saying you got the wrong plate. I just received email confirmation for my plate (RMR type) and shows “5136916: PDP Trijicon RMR (New Gen)”.
