Does anyone know when the started making the Walther PP or PPK in .22lr was it made pre 46? I have searched the web and not had much success. Just wanted to know if it was worth it to put a WTB for a 12.7 eligible one
Post 1946 for 22 cal, although you could get the barrel lengthened and re classified, but the hardest part is finding one, they sell almost instantly when they do come up. Best bet is get a Beretta 71

there was one on the EE awhile back, I know of one that is pre war , if the fellow had the serial # right, but it is not your run of the mill gun.
It would be cheaper to just go buy a good high quality target gun, But ya, I know, that is not a ppk.
At the last gunshow, I missed a 22 ppk by 5 minutes, and it was silly cheap.
If you have the gun, re barreling wouldn't be too hard. They stick out so far, they look ugly, but I would have it threaded for a fake can a-la James Bond
