Walther PPQ .22lr vs. Browning Buckmark

Strongly considering buying one or the other, looking for anybody with experience with the Walther!

I’ve handled both and the Walther’s grip cannot be beat, my only issue is long term durability/realizability- anybody know of any serious issues?

I know what the buckmark is and it can’t be beat, but I do really like the Walther. I’m not interested in anything from Ruger or the SW22 lines. One major con for the Buckmark in this debate is that it doesn’t fit in my Nanuk 4-up case, while the Walther does....
 
The browning is accurate, if you are concerned with improving your technique it’s a good way to go.
If you plan on shooting a walther in a larger caliber, get the walther.
Totally different grip types, so go with the one you find comfortable and is closest to what you want to shoot(larger cal).
 
Best place to ask is the Walther Forum. I have found the members there to be most helpful. The gun is well regarded and I plan to pick one up soon. I believe the Walther can be set to allow dry firing which is a bt unusual for .22LR pistols. Check first though.

I am trying to find PPQ 22lr for several months now ... unsuccessfully ...
none in Canada, not even in the US (with a reasonable after importing price)...
marked to be notified when in stock at a dozen dealers ...
no luck ...
 
I think the PPQ 22 is built fairly similarly to the M&P 22 (both are made by Walther). My M&P 22 works pretty good and fits in the same holsters as my 9mm, but accuracy is definitely not as good as a dedicated .22 target pistol like a Buckmark. If you already have a 9mm PPQ, the .22 version would be a good understudy.
 
I have shot the two back to back and they have distinctive differences. The grip angles are not the same, the weight distribution is more front bias on the Buckmarks with heavy barrels, the triggers have very different travel and reset distances (the Buck mark being shorter) and trigger pull weights (less on the Buckmark). I shot better groups at 15 meters with the Buckmark. I would recommend the Browning Buckmark target pistols over the Walther PPQ .22LR if you want an accurate target or plinking pistol. If you want a full sized auto to shoot cheap that has the handling feel of 9mm or .40 pistols, go with the PPQ.

Of note: I have had a Walther P99AS 9mm since 2006 and choose the Browning Buckmark over a PPQ .22LR (and a few others) about 2 years ago (it replaced my Ruger Mk II, which I sold).
 
I have the Walther PPQ 22lr 5". I have been shooting it since February. It's been really reliable. I'm using just bulk Federal Champion ammo with zero issues. The build quality is typical Walther, great. The grip feels like the 9mm version just a bit lighter. The trigger is decent, it feels lighter than the 9mm version and is hammer fired. Accuracy is awesome for a polymer 22lr, it won't be as accurate as the buckmark but still really good. Overall a great pistol. The only downside is availability. Took me about a year to find one.
