Walther PPQ 9mm in 4.2?

So it seems like the 45 version of the PPQ comes with a 4.2" barrel, but the 9mm only comes in 4.6" threaded and the 5"....Does the 4.2 exist in the wild in 9mm or is this a pipe dream? If not how would I be able to acquire such a barrel? (just getting frustrated with the g19 Pinnochio lol)

I looked into this as well. Looks like the best way is to buy a 40 cal PPQ which is 4.2" then buy a 9mm conversion barrel from Jarvis in the US. If buying everything new it will run you near $1300cdn which is why I haven't pulled the trigger yet but would like to.

A PPQ with a 4.2" barrel sold on EE not too long ago. Apparently the seller bought a stock P99 barrel for it and it worked fine. I can't confirm this is appropriate or there would be no issues as I have heard mixed views.

You could buy a Jarvis barrel and import but importation fees may be very high depending on the importer you choose.

I ended up buying an M1 from Irunguns, they switched the barrel with a Jarvis barrel I purchased (and had Jarvis ship to IRG) and I paid their standard price for importing a pistol they had in stock.

If you search on the Walther forums, there are minor differences between a P99 and PPQ barrel, whether or not this will lead to damage if you use a P99 barrel in PPQ no one knows?

That was me. Yes, it worked 100% as the barrels are the same on the P99AS (not the P99). It makes me wonder why they can't do a "Canadian Run" since Walther already makes the proper length barrels to do so.

I think they just can't be bothered..... they can't even bring in reasonably priced magazines..... even the unreasonably priced magazines are not easy to find.

I agree, not a fan of the protruding barrel. Even the threaded navy model looks odd to me. I ended up getting the 5" but if 4.2" was available, I'd be all over that.

Without looking into any legal ramifications, is it feasible to get the 4.6 barrel re crowned at a 4.2 " length ? It should be doable if legal for around a hundred bucks I would think.
