Looking for new handgun and am liking these two models.
Has anyone had a chance to shoot either of these models and if so what was consensus of how it functioned and felt.
Thanks

Did not shoot the m2 but had the ppq with threaded barrel, very cool gun. I liked it because it was like shooting my P30 in the sense that the controls were in the same spots. Hated the threaded barrel though so I sold it.

I am curious about the p99 and might one, for several reason, specially because it does not have a threaded barrel and the mag releases resembles the one in the pp1 m1, which I like.

Too bad the 5" does not come with the m1 mag release. I find the paddles to be far superior ergonomically.

I had the p99as and loved it. Really nice trigger, accurate and I prefer the DA/SA option with decocker to the ppq. Lots of guys swear by the trigger on the ppq though (i personally could not tell much difference but did not handle the ppq / p99as side-by-side). As above, I also did not like the threaded protruding barrel so the ppq was never in contention for me anyway.

Handled a PPQ and a PPX and a 99AS in Vegas a couple of days ago. I preferred the PPQ trigger. The AS trigger didn't do it for me and the bobbed hammer in the PPX wasn't my thing. Other than that the PPX was pretty cool.

yeah you can buy the compensator attachment like the HK has to hide the threaded barrel I believe. I am not fussy for the looks of it either but saw it with the attachment and looks alot like the HK P30LS

I shot a P99 today. Very impressed, you have to shoot it to appreciate it really, I would take the P99 over the PPQ any day, fantastic trigger.

same experience here.

+1. Wise man for not liking the threaded barrel. Its a Pita.

I have a P99 AS in 9mm, it doesn't have a really tight slide to frame fit so it rattles quite a bit when you shake it. The trigger is plastic so it has a plastic on plastic bearing feel to it, also one of the magazine release levers broke off.

P99as has 3 distinct trigger pulls.

1. DA...rack slide, decoct
2. Long SA...rack slide...trigger is in forward position...very light pull till it 'clicks into' short SA
3. Short SA...either pull from long SA till trigger clicks, or when releasing trigger for subsequent shots it resets in this mode.

Currently the books say carry only in DA, but when the gun first came out, the Long SA was touted as a method of carry. I prefer the long SA. One thing to consider is before you reholster you should either decock or rack slide back about 1/2" to reset the long SA trigger, otherwise you're holstering it in short SA mode.

I prefer the paddles,I use trigger finger to release mag, no shift in grip. I actually prefer the PPQ trigger. I can live with the longer barrel, or just swap it for my P99 barrel.
