So I took the PPQ .22LR to the range today and put some rounds through it

Does anyone know if its ok to dry fire these guns?

Conventional wisdom makes me wary of dry firing a rimfire but I`ve read the manual and can`t see any reference to it which makes me think its not a big deal (or that I`m missing it). It does day that to decock the gun simply make sure its unloaded and pull the trigger (dry fire)

Thoughts?

The manual says to dry fire to release the hammer (in the unloading section iirc). The firing pin doesn't contact the breech face so I think you can dry fire to your heart's content. I've probably dry fired mine a couple hundred times.

What did you think of it at the range?

Yeah that pretty much confirms what I understood.

I liked it - feels so nice in the hand and the gun feels like quality in my opinion. Even the magazines are well thought out with the thumb tab to press down on the spring and make it easier to load

I had a little hassle getting it sighted in and I suspect I may have run out of elevation adjustment but I can't be sure, I have bought a laser bore sighter so once that arrives I will try again to figure it out

How`d you like yours? Had it long?

I never thought of using a laser bore sighter on a handgun. Do you anticipate it will help a great deal to sight your Walther?

Truthfully I don't know, can't hurt I imagine, but I`m new to all this and still finding my feet

I also have a Ruger 10/22 and anything that makes things a little easier is an asset in my book.

I love mine. Agree with you on the ergos and quality. The only problem I've had is the rear sight. Shoots high even when adjusted fully down. I made a replacement rear sight blade that helps a lot: http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php/1408249-Walther-PPQ-22LR-replacement-sights
