Hi All

A bit confused here. I see the PPQ "Navy" model listed on sites but the pics are different? There are at least three different guns that are all called "Navy". In a store yesterday I held a long slide model with a 5? inch barrel with button mag release, have seen a threaded end cap model and the shorter version 4.25? barrel with lever mag release.
What does "Navy" refer to and what models have button or lever mag release?
Anyone?

There are 2 Navy models. One has the paddle mag release which is referred to as M1. The other has a button mag release referred to as M2. Both models have a threaded barrel hence the "Navy" designation. There are 2 5" models. One is simply the PPQ M2 5. The other is the PPQ M2 Q5 Match. Both have the button mag release. All PPQ models designated with M2 use the same magazines. The M1 uses its own magazine.

The striker spring is heavier on the Navy.

There are some extra coatings on the internals of the Navy as well, to prevent corrosion.

Navy comes with a threaded barrel. Don't think the other models do.

The firing pin spring cups are also similar to the "under water" spring cups available for the Glock. They are shaped to allow more space in the firing pin channel for water to move out of the way faster so it could function under water.

There is a drain hole in the bottom of the slide on the Navy (as is standard on all Glocks, IIRC). Advantage is it allows water to drain out of the striker channel to prevent hydro lock. Disadvantage is it allows dirt to be blown in. Take your pick.

Are the slides interchangeable? I know the p99 barrels work in the PPQ, this is the next pistol on my list, But I have to make a decision, I like the paddle release of the m1 navy, but love the look of the 5" m2. maybe I should buy one of each and swap uppers? I know mags are different as well.

The PPQ Navy shoots reliably underwater ... 'from what ive heard' ;)

Takes playing rubber ducky in the bath tab to a whole new level.

I did shoot the match version on a "pick up" stage last month in WA and was very impressed with the gun, Nicest stock trigger I have pulled in a very long time.

Take Care

Bob
