I'm considering buying one of these and wonder if some of you out there can give me some of your experience/s with this pistol...I've seen and read the reviews and they seem to point at it being a premiere handgun...Is it worth the thousand bucks after taxes?? It sounds like it...I've owned and shot a Glock 17, Cz shadow, Ruger SR9, and others...most of the best except for a Sig...I did have a chance to acquire a Sig dark elite which felt fantastic in my hands but it wanted a 1911 at the time and went with a Kimber custom 2 as it was a few hundred cheaper...Now I have my .45, .22 GSG but I need a nice excellent 9mm and the Walther sounds excellent especially the trigger....comments please if you don't mind.

Great gun "like a glock but with a way better trigger"

My only two beefs are.... "both personal problems :p"

-The grip is too short and I pinch the bottom on my hand during fast mag changes. "F'ing hurt too lol"

-Not enough room on the frame to press my off hand thumb on while firing. So my thumb rubs the slide while firing, causing the slide to short stroke. If you dont shoot thumbs forward or you have small thumbs, then your fine :)

I'm convinced. Got one coming.

Loved mine. Trigger was a dream, and I was able to get some nice groups.

Good luck finding PPQ Mags. 2nd gen P99 mags will fit. And with some slight modification the 1st gen P99's will too.

Fired mine for the first time 2 days ago & I must admit I'm impressed with how well it feels in hand. Trigger is definitely better than my glock triggers. It's looking to be a very accurate pistol also.

I've got one waiting for me right now while my RPAL is getting processed. I've shot the PPQ a number of times at the local range and fell in love with it - feels great in the hand, and my grouping seems very good.

Hi there,

I had a Walther PPQ for a couple of months and then decided to go on and trade it. Firstly, it is a great gun however IMO, I don't think its worth a g-note for a polymer framed gun. Once you are going that far, you might as well go the extra mile and get a Sig. Secondly, I thought that it was too jumpy/had to much recoil for being a 9mm polymer framed gun. It was really snappy but if you don't mind recoil, then you should like it. As well, if you plan on keeping the thread protector on the end of the barrel, its quite annoying as your shooting because that piece becomes more and more loose as you shoot. Again, if you are not worried about ruining the threads (since we cannot but suppressors on) not a big deal. As well, I was disappointed that for a g-note, they dont even give you a metal recoil rod. Lastly, if you tend to place your hands on the slide release/stop lever, it has overly large ambidextrous ones that are quite annoying if you like placing your hands there as it either doesn't lock back on the final shot or the slide locks back while shooting which is a little nerve racking!

Like people have mentioned, the trigger and the way the grips feel are superb though! They did do a great job on those two things!

In the end though, if I were to redo it again, I would just go the extra mile and get a Sig for the extra couple hundred while you are at it. Like I told myself, you might as well have the Rolls Royce of guns. However, its up to you in the very end how it feels in YOUR hands and what YOU think of it.

(Disclaimer: I'm not bashing the PPQ its just MY thoughts and opinions :) )

Not bashing at all, good alternative opinion in fact and as much as I love the PPQ I agree with your comments. Its a bit snappy, worse in 40SW as well. Just depends on what characteristics are most important to you in the end.
