Walther PPQ Navy. Pic heavy. Holster update post#20.

The only thing that was a pain in the butt is the thread protector cap. It comes loose after a few rounds. I don't want to loctite it because you have to take the cap off to remove the barrel from the slide for cleaning. I don't want to keep tightening it up a quarter turn after every few shots because we all know it's not safe to have your hand near the muzzle of any firearm. I'll probably just take it off before shooting and put it back on when I'm all done. I'd be mad if I lost it.

Sorry to resurrect a month old thread, but thought you might be interested to hear that I solved the same problem on my PPQ with an O-ring "liberated" from a Caterpillar o-ring kit at work that fits in between the thread protector and the end of the barrel. Allows you to tighten it down (and remove it) by hand, but the o-ring provides some tension between the protector and barrel. Haven't had it back off since. Sorry, can't remember o-ring part number, but find a local Cat dealer, bring him your thread protector and you should be able to figure it out!

I guess these walther pistols are fairly new. they weren't on my shopping/interest radar until I was at a store and was holding the ppq. loved it a lot. the next day I was online and found the ppx range kit for an awesome deal, so I got that instead. there seems to be not much of a difference, except I do like the sights on the ppq more. the range kit came in a really nice case, 3 mags, holster and mag holster.

I'm glad you did, great review, and o-ring tip... The PPQ has been in my sights for a while and it's next on the acquisition list now.

Well I'm not.....................In January when Sarge_DL started this interesting thread I really wanted one but couldn't find one at a decent price so I forgot about it. Now you just woke up an old urge

Seriously I just ordered one from Wanstalls (Gary) at a great price.....................he has 2 left!

Thanks to Sarge and all the members who contributed on this thread!

OK:)

Thanks for the replies. I just competed in the first pistol match of the year at my local club with my PPQ Navy. The pistol ran flawlessly. I was able to come home with with 2nd place. I can't say enough about how much I love this pistol. I didn't have any problems trying to find the mag release after all my years with a traditional semi auto.

The best part about the gun is the sight picture....(or maybe the trigger)? We were shooting pepper poppers, paper, bowling pins, and especially difficult, clay birds (on 18" metal rod stands). When you're moving and under time, the triangle cut/design of the slide provides so much more visual contact with your target than one that is square like a Glock. I hope I'm explaining that correctly. Anyway, the targets really stand out nicely.

I just love it!

Hey guys,
I just wanted to know if there is an "official" Walther PPQ thread somewhere? I'd like to get in on discussions about the differences between the M1 and M2.
I know what the physical appearnance diffs are, but i heard they may have messed with that beautiful trigger of the M1 when they made the M2.

Loving what I'm hearing about this gun. Good buy OP.
Thanks.

trigger is the same, they changed the trigger guard, which has nothing to do with the trigger maybe the grip area, particularly your middle finger. I find the M2 extremely ugly, don't like the finer optic sights nor those stupid homer simpson 'air holes' the put on the slide (I get it is for reducing the weight). Anyway, If I was you and you are looking for a paddle release on a striker fired, just wait for the new HK Vp9. Cheers.
