I was considering buying a Walther PPQ Navy, but was concerned that it might be difficult get replacement parts or have it fixed, if required. Who supports this pistol in Canada?
I took the 9mill plunge on one from P&D Enterprises, because it was beautiful and I want a quality gun to compare to the cheapnasty other one I'm getting. The fact that it's fully ambidextrous from the factory is nice indeed, even though I am righthanded I like to have options for possible glove wearing or alternate techniques. The only problem I've seen on the internet is when using the Magnum Research Baby Eagle mags or whatever, as apparently they do function but are quirky.
The real adventure is probably going to be trying to find enough mags to use this as a serious competitive pistol. Hopefully I didn't choose to buy two pistols that are going to logistical nightmares.
It seems as though North Sylvia Co. might be the Canadian distributor. I'll let you know if I find out anything more. There seems to also be news of Walther setting up operations in America, replacing Smith and Wesson as middleman. http://www.smith-wesson.com/webapp/...1&storeId=10002&catalogId=13102&content=11001 bloody almost $400 cheaper on that side of the border.
I've checked with Wolverine Supplies, they can order spare parts. Check Walther Forum they have step by step pictorial on how to detail strip and reassemble the frame, so you have all the information you need.

According to Canada Ammo, Walther is "by the end of the year" for magazines. Replacement springs, backstraps, etc, might be faster as they do not need to be specifically modified for Canada.
Once again our lovely laws are trying to stonewall my competitive shooting career. At this rate it will probably be a full year before I get together a repair kit and suitable quantity of spare mags.
Are you planning on breaking it? I mean...I dont try to admit I know anything about the Walthers other than I want one but...why the hell would it break any time in the next 20,000 rounds? Or do you shoot a shart load?
No I don't expect it to break, and it's not a junk gun, but I would feel vastly more confident with some extra springs and pins and whatnot. I just really want to avoid a situation where I'm at a competition and a spring breaks and I need to send the gun out for weeks or months at a time to get it replaced. The exact same as having a jack, tire iron, and a spare tire with your car.
I don't need it, but it would make me feel secure.
