Not seeing too much action on this pistol here, so decided to post my own thoughts here.
Mounted a Holosun 508t on the gun. I feel it allows for a better-balanced gun than the Shadow 2 OR which my wife uses. I find the Shadow 2 front heavy, the Shadow 2 OR is better thanks to the OR, but the Walther's balance is even better, this may be partially due to the lighter 508t.
Holosun 508t is the same as the Holosun 507C except it's made using solid titanium housing making it 40% lighter than the 507C. It's got the same EOTech style reticle, which is awesome!
I read online that Canik TP9 Magazines would fit the Walther PPQ M2 and the Q5 guns so I gave it a try, the Canik magazines are not only cheaper but actually work better than the factory PPQ magazines.
There are reports online that some Q5 Match SF owners experienced issues with their magazines having too much clearance and therefore causing misfeed/jam. Well, the Canik magazines provide a closer/tighter fit and the slide locks open on empty mag and the bottom of slide doesn't damage the magazine like some of the online reports had indicated.
I bought the full-sized TP9 mag because THE TP9 Elite Mag DOES NOT FIT, the TP9 mag is a bit longer, and the base plate angle is a bit different from Walther's. I actually prefer it this way, since I have relatively large hands, I've had the original mags pinching my palm when I inserted the mag.
The grip is actually better than I thought it would be, rough enough but not too rough, I will have to shoot it more before I decide whether to switch over to a LOK grip or not.
The beavertail is honestly pretty useless, some of the online "influencers" talked about how it allows the hand to grasp the gun higher and how it helps with the draw. NOPE. Completely useless in that regard and I wish they just made the area thinner without the beavertail so that the hand can actually ride higher. They did fix the issue where some had reported the beavertail produced a sharp point on each side that would destroy your "thumb knuckle", that's no longer the case and it's been smoothed out. What the beavertail does help a tiny bit is with the reduction of muzzle flip, because the beavertail rests on web between your index finger and your thumb and as the gun tries to rotate upwards in your hand, the beavertail acts as a lever to counter act the muzzle flip.
The gun came with the sight adapter plates and basic tools for changing the plates out. Didn't even get a bore brush, not sure if it got lost somewhere.
The factory trigger isn't anything to write home about, but easily lightened with a reduced power trigger spring. It definitely loses its creep after firing/dry firing a bunch.
Now I'm just waiting for the "Expert" trigger to show up for sale, come on North Sylva!
The factory target isn't as impressive as some of the other targets posted online, but good enough for B-zones from 25 meters away.
