Walther PPQ vs H&K SFP9

Had a VP9 and currently own a PPQ M2 5".
Both are very, very close and outstanding guns.
-PPQ is a bit snappy in recoil, VP9 handles recoil better.
-Grip is a bit better on the HK, trigger is a bit better on the PPQ.
-Modifying trigger components on the PPQ is much easier than the HK...if you care.

What it comes down to for me is the performance down range, the paper doesn't lie or care who made the gun or who is shooting it.
PPQ (at least the 5" gun) wins here (sight radius between the 5" PPQ and VP9 is very close by the way). I've shot a 15 round benched group at 25 meters that started to make a ragged hole, under 2 inches with boxed factory ammo!
I'm hard pressed to get that level of performance out of my X5 or S&W PPC 9.

Only accurate guns seem to be interesting these days.

i will stand by hk vp9 ..ppq has a snappier recoil ...ergonomics hk has the advantage too ..parts both are priced high ...lol

Post a pic! If I could get the a non-treaded PPQ, I would. Until then, I'm happy with my P99.

It's not a Jarvis barrel though. I think it came off a P99AS. Works perfectly though.

I don't think there's significant winner between these two great pistols. I shot both, liked both ended up getting the PPQ m2 5" because I found a good trade deal on one. No regrets. I'd have been just as happy with the SFP9 and had many HK pistols before. Buy whichever one you like more aesthetically and don't look back. Spend time training with it and you'll be just as good a shooter with either one.

Very nice! Interesting, I've heard different things about the P99 barrels in the PPQ but I guess that is proof they work.

I bought it off of a fellow CGNer who took the barrel from his P99AS and swapped them. He sold it to me like this and it works with no issues. As I recall, I don't think the regular P99 barrel will work.

I say PPQ M2 5" I will be honest and say I own one however the trigger is amazing compared to the Glock & M&Ps I've shot.

Can't say anything regarding the H&K though

I like my PPQ but my support hand often depresses the mag release button causing the mag to drop. Anybody else having this issue?
I'm experimenting with the different back straps and modifying my grip.
Obviously this would not be a problem with the SFP9...

Well I was at the range today with my Q5 Match pistol and the pic with 10 shots at 10 meters speaks for itself as well as to which pistol I prefer.....

Well done! I'm headed to the range tomorrow. Maybe I'll try that with my SFP9.

Is that a printable target? I'll be lucky if all my shots don't go outside the 8...

I love my PPQ M1 Navy!! It didn't take long to get used to the paddle mag release, and now I actually prefer it to my Glock and other pistols with a conventional mag release.

An added bonus: the M1 can use P99 mags, so they're considerably cheaper and easier to come by than M2 or SFP9 mags.

I don't think i will buy both but maybe i'll buy the H&K Sfp9 (9mm) AND a Walther PPQ M2 in 22lr. Seem like the 22lr and the 9mm are the exact same pistol (size, not internal) and seems to be really reliable. I think the 22lr PPQ will shoot better than my GSG or my loved beretta 71. Having both Sfp9 and PPq in 9mm seem to be useless since they are almost the same pistols... but the day i'll see a bargain...pretty sure i'll get one anyway!

I own an S&W M&P22 which is an "OK" shooter not great. Now if your really want to get into serious 22LR then I would suggest the S&W Model 41. However, if your budget won't allow a Model 41 the new S&W Victory is the ticket. It's inexpensive and a fantastic shooter.

As posted earlier I have the Walther PPQ M2 5". Love the gun for many reason, but it's outstanding trigger and accuracy are at the top of the list. Before buying my PPQ I looked in to the H&K SFP9 but passed on it because I thought the trigger wasn't as good as the Walthers.

Well after reading some of the posts from the SFP9 proponents here I gave the SFP9 another look while at a gun store last week.

SFP9 is a very nice gun, but if I could only have one of the two, happy to report I made the right decision with my PPQ. Trigger on the PPQ (still) totally trumps the SFP9!
