Hi guys, looking into possibly purchasing one of these. Reading up on the Walther Forum, I came to realise that some owners were having issues with the 3 part barrel assembly becoming loose. Walther, now offering a lifetime on all their pistols, past and present, sent replacement barrels. Have any of you in Canada had to deal with warranty issues and was the service decent this side of the border?

North silva is the eastern service center. I needed a new front sight from them for my PPX and it was like pulling hens teeth.

I'm still waiting for it.

The PPX is a solid platform no matter what you've heard. Great gun for the money.

$500 for 3 mags ($60 each), pistol holster & mag holster (about $80) and pistol.

$200 in accesories (one mag normally comes with a pistol. $300 for a German made pistol is how I looked at it.

Killer deal. Period.

Humm, thanks. ;) Hoping others can also chime in, there aren't a ton of budget options out there. If I'm going to get stuck with no or poor warranty service, it might steer me towards something else...

I saw in another thread there was a member that had a broken mag release on his PPQ M1 and was having a tough time getting a replacement. I think it was North Sylva he's was dealing with.

mine is down with a broken slide stop North silva told me they didnt have one and no idea when they would get some, too bad so sad sorry bout your broken gun. Had I known support was so poor I never would have bought it.

Yup. This is me with the broken Mag release. I've been waiting a year and a half now. Warranty for Walther is non existent. My PPQ is by far my favorite pistol I have ever owned. But don't buy one, because you can't get support for them in Canada. After I waited 8 months, the gun smith, Jacob at the Calgary Shooting Center (where I bought it) told me that North Sylvia won't help me and that I'll have to search the net and resource the part some other way by myself. I emailed a bunch of people and I found a guy that sells Walther airsoft guns in Sask. He has ordered the part for me 8 months ago and it still isn't here. It's a $12 part in the US for Americans, $30 part for Canadians but now I'll have to pay for the import permit being a gun part and it's going to cost me probably over $150 if it ever shows up.

I will never buy another Walther product.

Get 1 from Brownells. There are plenty of us distributors that take care of the import paperwork for you and it shouldn't cost you anything extra.

Brownells doesn't have the part. The only person to have the part in the US that I could find is Carl Walther USA. He has the part but refuses to ship anything to Canada.

The PPX is fun gun great trigger but the fact its a Walther and Walther is known to have the ####iest warranty service in Canada is the one thing that put me off right away.

Well, that settled it for me. I bought S&W instead. Thanks to all for sharing their experience. I had heard tells of people having a hard enough time finding mags for their PPQ's, but this is inacceptable indeed.
