Walther ppx / SDV9/ M & P 9?

Just bought an sd9ve. Waiting for it to arrive. Read mostly good things about them. I think you may be able to get the m&p 9 for about $150 more though.
IMO glock 17's too pricey right now. Yes I've owned two of them.
I will update if no one else chimes in here after I get it.
You could also look at the norinco 9mm 1911.

Buy the Walther. I got mine and it was making 1 inch holes out of the box.
The SD9VE has kind of a crappy trigger. I bought the Apex spring kit for mine and it helped.
Have only fired an M&P-9 at a range so couldn't try a larger grip panel so just didn't like the feel of it.

I narrowed it down to those three bc they seem to be the budget 9mm's that are actually decent, available now, spare parts etc...
I don't think any of them get bad reviews really, all under or at $400, sometimes even lower... I know the SDV9 is supposed to have a heavy trigger but some ppl seem to like it.

PPX is a nice handgun for the price, I've shot my father in laws a few times and it is a great value for the money, but I personally prefer the Canik TP9SA that my buddy has, fantastic gun for not much more than the PPX, check it out. I love my FNS 9LS more than either of the above, but the price has risen on them lately, there are some good deals on used FN's on the EE right now, worth considering for sure. Good luck in your search, I'm sure you will be happy with any of the handguns mentioned.
My M&P 9 is one of my fave go to guns. I do feel i'm a little more accurate with the Glock 17 for some reason. My buddy just picked up a canik tp9sa and for the money I must say it's a real fine shooter. Of course throwin some apex love at the M&P would make things a lot better.
PPX has a really nice trigger and feels great in the hand, some might call it ugly but to each their own. It's a great shooting pistol. I am a fan of the SD9VE, I like to call it the poor man's Glock 19, trigger is heavier but not unbearable and after a little time using it you can shoot some good groups. It's a good value. My BIL was in the same situation and he ended up buying both the PPX and the SD9VE.

Agreed, I have shot the sd9ve and it's got a terrible trigger and this is coming from a m&p9 fan and owner. I shot the Walther ppq but not the ppx, trigger was really nice but the ergonomics of it were not for me. Which is why I picked the m&p, fits my hand great and I shoot it well if I do my part.

My brother just picked up a PPX. Really great pistol for the money. It looks a little clunky, but the trigger is VERY good. You can find the entire range kits for $400-450 on the EE.
The FNS9 is a really nice option too, but similar money to the M&P.

I hate to be the guy that ignores your three choices to add a fourth, but I've been watching a lot of YouTube videos about the new Canik TP9SF elite. Its glock 19 sized, so smaller than the Caniks currently in the country, but it has a Canadian legal length barrel. People in the U.S. are raving about the trigger and the decocker that some people don't like is not on this model. It's new to the USA, so it might be a little wait until we see it here, but sounds good. The trigger really gets a ton of praise and it's about $400 USD, so while it will inevitably be more expensive in Canada, it should still be reasonably priced once it gets here.
I am new to shooting and I chose the Canik tp9sa. Like others have mentioned, the trigger is really fantastic. It breaks clean and the reset is tactile, short and audible. It's trigger is much better than the m&p9 and the ppx IMHO. Haven't shot the SD.
I've been shooting a Walther PPX range kit (with 3 mags!) which I bought for $419+tax (of course) from Tenda a few months ago. For the price I paid it's the best pistol I've ever had. The trigger is absolutely splendid. Very accurate up to 25 yards. Field stripping takes just seconds. Excellent overall quality. It's a large pistol though, good for people with large hands. I have large hands and it fits me superbly, like a proverbial glove.
If you can get a PPX range kit for under $500 do not hesitate.
I have the PPX, was my first purchase and wasn't even on my short list. I held the SD9 and a couple other lower priced 9mm models and didn't like the way they fit in my hand. I went above my budget (at the time) and held the PPX and said it's the one. My LGS had the kit for $599 so I'm crying now when I see the price is dropped considerably, when you realize how good it shoots.

My wife has a PPX. She loves it. It is kinda homely looking but has a great trigger and is very accurate. Just be aware that they are discontinued. Walter has replaced it with a new design called the "Creed" I haven't seen them here in Canada yet, but the Americans are saying to should have been called the PPX M2 as the only changes are cosmetic.

i have a couple of the M&P and i really like them.
i have been very interested to try the PPX but just havnt gotten around to it.
its the shame that the Glocks have priced themselves right out of most peoples reach.
