Walther RS3 Bullpup Straight Pull

'Ze Germans run this thing with a sound compensator (silencer) for balance and other practical hunting reasons (e.g. night hunting,...).

I know of some who are less than amused with the "grip safety".

The grip safety is pushed in to c0ck the rifle. It stays in place until you push it in and up and it then decocks the rifle.
The rifle is balanced with the recommended suppressor or muzzle brake. You are free to mount nothing or a device of your choice. The trade off would be loss of balance.
Thanks for clarifying that concern about the grip safety. So it's essentially like the cocking/de-cocking tang safety on Blasers and other Euro guns. I guess its location here is likely the best choice with the thumbhole configuration of this gun.

Since this gizmo is actually compressing/cocking the firing pin spring, I'm sure there will be some who complain that it is "too hard" to depress, especially with the web of the hand. I've read several complaints to this effect about the Blaser cocking lever on the tang (as silly as that sounds) so if the pressure must be exerted on this thing those same complaints will likely follow. But as long as it remains in the cocked position until the gun is fired or the thing is manually unlocked/decocked it sounds like it will work nicely.

Still not sold on the muzzle device idea, but good to hear that it is entirely optional and could be added at a later date if desired. :)
