Waltz re-sizing die

Really trying to figure out what a resizing die has to do with rimfire.

It resizes the bullet, usually, but not always with some deformation or reshaping of the bullet nose shape.

The effect is to try to create a better fit in the barrel, than the generic size ammo as produced.

So that's what gets 're-sized'

Cheers

Got my stuff from Neal.He is a great fellow to talk to.He does gun smithing and is a retired tool and die maker as well as a teacher very well versed and shipped it quick.I phoned him in the afternoon. He is still having problems with his computer.

10 day turnaround to manitoba. He machines the system himself.Very nice workmanship.Easy to use turns out a fine finished bullet.Haven't shot them yet it hasn't quit raining.

I'm ready to buy one just because I like tinkering/reloading...but I can't justify it if it doesn't offer SOME accuracy advantages. Looking forward to a range report.

The hollow point was a reason I went that way it makes a real nice hollow point and you can control the size and it is effortless and quick..I bought a lee pistol press for the job and it is real slick.Wholesale sports have the press i think 39.95.
Its only money what good is it if you don't get something that you like?

Hey guys~curious for an update on the results. Have you shot this ammo yet? How does it group compared to non-Waltzed stuff? Looking for a reason to buy...might ask Santa for it! :)

I give one a bit of a try.( it was borrowed and had to give it back) I only tried it on The bulk stuff of various brands . It looks like to me it improved accuracy a small amount in almost every case. What ammo was working best before the die also worked best after. My buddy (die owner) said it turns the shallow hollow pointed federals into terrific gopher killers if you put a good hollow point on them. Conclusion - if you need better ammo , buy better ammo . That said ,its a great toy to play around with. Like another buddy used to say, more toys makes us shoot more, and that makes us better shots.

I need this die, and I need a gopher invite from one of you Western Canadians! Think I'll start saving a few coppers for one of these.
