Wanstalls Exclusive: 12" Tombstone SxS Shotgun

If you get one with ejectors and double trigger next time, I'm in.

a) I don't pouch (need to hide shells), I need to reload quickly (follow up quick shot can be important). I never had any issues with ejectors and didn't find any reliability issues over extractors.
b) Double trigger gives me the option to chose the barrel with different load or type of ammo, e.g. choice whether to shoot buck shot or slug when deer hunting. That's pretty much the only advantage I see in double barrels over pump or semi.

I don't understand how people use this as an opportunity to criticize the $300 Outlaw. This is like saying "My Wilson Combat is so much better than your Norinco 1911".

Comparing apples and oranges IMHO.
 
I got my DA Outlaw for $100 from the "as is, where is" defective return pile that Canam brings to gunshows.

I put some wood filler in a 1/4" chip out of the stock, learned how to tighten up the loose forestock by watching a youtube video and took down some burrs and rough spots around the chamber mouths. A little bit of screwdriver work tightening everything down and I was done. Oh, then I had to file short a screw that was too long and protruded after it was tightened down.

Aside from a small bit of play in the forestock everything else is rock solid and reliable. For what it is and what I paid I could not be happier.

The video I watched showed how to use a hammer and punch to upset (shift/move) the metal in the right spot to tighten up the fore end. I could tap it a little bit more and make it even tighter but then I can't open it as easy. If I need to I can always repeat the process should the fore end shoot loose again or I decide I would like it to be even tighter.

I enjoy working and learning on little gun projects and at the price I paid I wasn't scared to practice and possibly mess up this gun.
 
Cheers guys. Mine came a bit loose after a few boxes of standard load 2 3/4" slugs and OO Buckshot. I tightened it up and applied blue locktite to all the fasteners, but I now have in my greedy little possession some 3" high brass magnum loads of slugs and shot. I'm anticipating a bruised shoulder, a smile, and a re-loosened fore stock:) Perhaps a cleaning patch shim would dampen some of the shock...I'll try it.

Pretty sure the Outlaw has 2 3/4 chamber size... It's stamped right on the side of the barrel
 
Are these ever coming back in same or new variation?

I'd be interested for sure. Been looking recently for a nice 12" barrel SxS 12g...wish I has seen these when the original post was made...
 
It took a couple of them but the cleaning patch shimming trick took away the slight remaining play in the fore stock.

Also mine is engraved 3" - Dominion Arms - Outlaw on the left side of the receiver and 12GA CYL on both barrels
 
It would be nice if the Yildiz where available as a 20" barrel coach gun, since the only sxs coach guns that seem to be available in Canada at present are the Stoeger IGA ones made in Brazil, since the Baikal are no longer imported due to trade sanctions with Russia. The 20" are more useful in a real world situation for predators etc than the short barreled ones.

I'd be interested in a SxS with a 14" barrel, screw in choke tubes and maybe engraving of a grizzly or stage coach.
What would really be nice is if you could get it in 10ga.

nice little shotgun, but without hammers its not much for hiking/fishing......unless you feel comfortable carrying it loaded, cocked and safetied......I wouldn't..

To pull it out.... open it....load it....close it......you seriously might not have enough time for that....
most surprise sudden encounters are around the 20 yrd range.....a full charging bear can cover that distance in 1 second.......

ill stick to a short pump, with a full tube....or my custom 45-70 shorty....anything that I can pull, load and shoot fast....with accuracy

but it sure is a pretty little shottie though....
