Want Suggestions on Bolt Action Rifles

I've heard excellent things about Tikka. Maybe someone can shed some light on how good the prices are for these and which one would be the best.

Recommending another company is fine too.
I'd like some suggestions as to which would be the best quality/value/accuracy. Ideally I don't want to spent any more than $1000 minus optics. Now that I bring it up, some suggestions on optics to go along with the rifle would be appreciated.
Something that I can shoot effectively at 200 or 300 meters.

In my personal opinion, Tikka are the most consistently accurate factory rifles going. If you want a rifle to which you need no nothing, get a tikka.

I suggest the heavy-barreled versions such as the the Varmint and tactical models.

There was a sweet Tikka Tactical in 223 in the EE. You're there.
