want to build an AR

The two NEA's (one billet/one forged) I own are totally interchangeable with my Armalite (forged), Midwest Industries (billet), OMNI (polymer), Aero Precision (forged) and Spikes (forged).

I'm sure NEA has had some good production out there, but that's why I refer to them as a crap shoot. Some work, some fail. That's enough reason for me to avoid them.

Also, are the polymer lowers different as far as accepting LPKs, etc.? I don't think I'm going to end up going polymer, but I'm just curious...

As far as I'm aware, they're entirely interchangable, and I'm sure some have had good luck with them. But I've seen enough crack and fall aport through the joys of google and youtube to warrant me not wanting one of those either. Just my two cents.

Again interchangeability with metal, however they are usually thicker to add more strength in possible failure areas. On my OMNI I needed to leave a slight gap between the upper rail and the hand guard rail to allow clearance when I pull the rear break down pin.
