want to buy a 17 hmr firearm

The trigger was down right ugly, lots of creep. The bottom metal became bent when i tightened the action screws, and the tupperware stock was touching the side of the barrel up near the front. Also the spring that powers the firing pin was weak and had to be replaced as it would fail to fire about half the time. Those were the issues that I had.

Oh, heard something bad about this gun.

I have a Zastava one sold at a very reasonable price by Trade-Ex (about $385 new before taxes), they bought in a very limited number. It is made from all steel without any plastic parts and has a very nice high quality walnut stock with 2 mags and shoots extremely well.

I highly recommend them if you can find one for sale.

This is what they look like -

If those examples reflect your budget range, the CZ Varmint is head-and-shoulders the best of the three.

LOVE my cz 455 varmint. It is a gopher annihilator. If i had to say one bad thing about it, it would be the trigger. Mediocre at best. Upgraded that part. Mags aren't the cheapest either, if you can find them. I don't have experience with the 93r17 or the ruger american 17 rifles specifically, but I do have experience with Savage and Ruger. In a general way, the CZs fit, finish, and function are real tough to beat for the price. Damn accurate as well.
