Want to buy first glock! pls help

hello everybody!

slowly getting the hang of this forum and love it so far
never knew there were this many active user!

first off, thanks everyone for the help so far

so as you can see from the title id like to buy my first glock
i was told im not allowed to purchase anything on EE becuase im not approved but i guess now im asking for future

i either plan on buying in store (although quite expensive) or once i can be able to id like to get one from CGN

ive seen both the 17 and 19, i find 17 fits my hand better aswell as i dont like the threaded barrell on the 19.
other than that im not sure about whether to get glock 17 gen3 or gen4?

if i buy in store the gen3 is a little cheaper but at the end of the day i want my glock to work well and continue to work for a while (which there known to)

is there much difference between the two? and what do you guys recommend!

I shoot a Gen 2 G19 and a Gen 3 G22. There were early issues with the Gen4 but they are all resolved now. Gen 1-3 mags won't work on a Gen 4 if you switch the mag release to the right side but Gen 4 mags will work in the other Gens.
In the end, it's a Glock. They all work!

I love my Gen 2 G19 and my Gen 3 G22. I also bought a Gen 4 G34.
 
I owned both the Glock 17 Gen 4 and Glock 19, now I only own the 19. Fits better in my hands.

For you question about Glock 17 Gen 4 has this different than Gen 3

- different size back straps and backstraps with beavertail
- ambidextrious mag release
- bigger mag release
- different recoil spring
- grippier textures frame

Parts are widely available for both generation
 
One of the sight sponsors (IRUNGUNS) had a good deal on some 4th gen LEO trade ins if that sort of thing interests you.

My 19 is my favorite gun, bar none! More accurate than my 22RTF with the Lone Wolf barrel for 9mm. I use the 19 for IDPA and the 22 for open 2 and 3 gun competition as it has fiber optics.

I like the G19 best and it has the threaded barrel. For the G22 I had the 9mm barrel but sold it as I had enough 9mm pistols to keep me happy.
 
ive got a G17C and a G19 both Gen3.
i like them both but the G19 does fit my hand better but i loathhhhhhhhhhhhhh that finger groves!
im almost at the point where im gonna sand them off!

im waiting for the Gen 5 with bated breath in the hopes it has the flat front AND ambi slide release.
