LOL, dude it's called inflation. Prices increase over time, haven't you noticed you're paying more for everything else too? Rifles aren't the exception to the worlds economy.

I would like to try one someday never had a savage yet do you guys like the acutrigger

Love the accutrigger have a 308 and a 22lr both sporting it and it really makes it nice and crisp (adjustable too) little different but a good clean well designed trigger ...and if I can practise on my 22lr with the same trigger as the more expensive rounds then all the better.
Savage makes good and very accurate products right out of the box!
IMHO & my personal experiences. :)

Well I'm not being completely honest I tried a I don't know what the model name was. It was a savage in grey laminate it was 338 laupua, it had a sightron scope and acutrigger. A buddy next to my lane wanted to try my xcr, and let me shoot his. Long story short the gas system was in zero and I was preoccupied in figuring out the stupid xcr issue. I fired the lupua twice.... The acutrigger was so sensitive that it wouldent stay sprung when u slammed the bolt home. Plus I kept not pulling the right part, basically it was customized for the owner. Again trying to keep this short, really wasent concentrating on the rifle at the time as I was struggling to get the pull and close the bolt softly enough. So now I'm conflicted and enough to just ask around as I can't really decide if it was just the way that one was or if I should try one. Thanks for the replies I just got an atrs custom 308, havent even tried it yet, was thinking a savage for hunting though? Oh yea that and it had a brake on it wich made my eyes water when I was around it kind of distracting.

And most people are earning more also. Consumer goods (for the most part) are actually cheaper when considered in terms of income!

Add NF scope to package ... $2200 ,add range finder another $1500 plus ... You can get into affordable LR shooting for about 6k without breaking the bank !
