I want to start competing in F/O or TR in 2015. wondering where competions are held in alberta or sask or where to look for that info? Any tips on shooting at these comps is helpfull.

Thanks.

In saskatchewan we only have 1 range and it is just outside Nokomis. Our shooting season usually starts the may long weekend and there is different competitions through out the summer until the sept long weekend. Always looking for more shooters. Our schedule is not out yet but if you go to the DCRA website there is links to all the provincial shooting associations with lots of good info. Any other information I can help with just pm me

Start with TR unless you're over 80. Then, and only then, bow your head, knuckle under, cower down with shame and try F-class.

Obviously a strong supporter of TR and nothing wrong with that but don't think saying shooting f-class should be done with shame is fair either, to each their own. Unfortunately there is not many guys left shooting TR and especially not in saskatchewan. You would not have many guys to compete against, usually only a couple guys at each competition to compete against.

BIG BORE

You should remember to add emoticons to your comments when joking, otherwise some readers might take it as a serious DumbAss comment :)

Welcome to the sport. There's a bunch of good people out there that can introduce you to the game. Check with you Provincial Rifle Associations
and get to chat with some members.

My apologies, I thought everyone would realize I was kidding. (What's emoticon?) All shooting sports are fun and I have a healthy respect for anyone competing.

Know a guy who thought everything DCRA was for over 80's. Frank was kind of hyper though. snicker.
Doesn't matter what kind of shooting you do. Read the rules and go have fun.

... and don't worry about what equipment you have. Shoot what you have and talk with the guys on the range - everyone will be willing to give advice and answer questions that you'll have. Spend the first year soaking it in before making any major purchases.
