^^^ This would be my guess I made a similar error when I first started with wadcuttersSometimes you need a flaring die to get the bullets started
So true I started collecting them and had to stop at the very pricey ones..it's a tool adictionThis is how I started too. Bought a couple of the Mastercraft digital calipers (because one is none...) when I spotted them on sale. While they are perfectly adequate, I did find they would occasionally drift off zero if not handled carefully.
So I ended up buying an iGaging Absolute Origin caliper from Amazon (https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00INL0BTS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) based on the strength of this guy's (GadgetClass) excellent review of digital calipers: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VMf2_JD3aCg They are probably a little overkill but have proven to be excellent calipers and maintain excellent accuracy in practical use.
Like the Mastercraft calipers, wait until they go on sale as I got mine for $85 not the $105 they are currently listed at. I use The Camelizer plugin (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/the-camelizer/ghnomdcacenbmilgjigehppbamfndblo?hl=en) to track Amazon price histories and give me an alert when a product hits a desired price.
Thank you for the help. How do I add more flare? I thought the resizing die/ primer remover was all that was needed. Does that mean I need to adjust that die? Sorry if my questions are so basic, I really have just begun to understand reloading.Probably just needed a bit more flare on your case. The bullet should sit by itself. Once you straighten it by eye, seat the bullet.
