wanted. short tactical rifle

I'm looking for a bolt action rifle with a detactable mag. 308 cal. I see CZ has one a 550 urban counter sniper but is there any info on it? Does anyone know of any where to get one or something similar. I am not looking for a hunting rifle and not a full blown sniper rifle. Thanks

I am not a savage fan, is there a conversion kit to put a detactable mag in a ruger. I heard Ruger may be coming out with a new bolt with detacalbe mag.

Why not? If you look at what Savage can offer you today, there are very few manf's that can give you the features and performance for anywhere near the money spent.

I love Savage's, but if you want a short Tactical Bolt rifle, look at the Remington 700's, specifically the LTR or more economical 700 SPS Tactical. Heavy Barrel, and accurate. It doesn't have the detachable mag.. but how important to you is that? You could always add one with some tinkering...

Like others have said, for what you are asking for, the best quality choice is a Savage.

If you can still find the savage 10 fp with folding choate stock, can't get much shorter or accurate for the money. Two strikes, your not a savage fan, and no mag.

If you are looking for a used rifle, consider a Tikka T3 Super Varmit. Williams Arms in Port Perry has a used one. Very nice shooter.
